Streak Society

Freelance Production Coordination

Client
Duolingo

Description
Worked closely with designers, creative producers, and heads of marketing to realize Duolingo's first remote experiential activation in the form of a merchandise pop-up in SoHo.

Takeaways
With any large scale activation, there are a seemingly endless number of details that must be considered to make the project a success. Collaborating mainly with the head producer of the project, I was able to clearly understand the planning, focus, and grit necessary to execute an ambitious vision, all while staying within budget and timeline. I looked to help out anywhere possible, whether it was testing and troubleshooting technical elements of the space, relaying communications across teams, or engineering quick solutions for elements of the space that didn’t turn out exactly according to plan. Working on “Streak Society” helped me grow more adaptable as a creative engineer, and provided insight on how to successfully produce an ambitious project.
Throughout the experience, each member of the on-site team was communicative, understanding, and humble, regardless of their role. When everyone shares the ambition for the best result possible, it creates a tight knit group where you can be vocal and honest, take a break when you need one, and share laughs with the people you're working alongside. Seeing how these strong relationships lead to an incredibly successful project, I look to create this enjoyable and effective dynamic in my future teams.
